This 26-year-old woman desired a more ideal nose shape and improved breathing. Inside her nasal airways she had a deviated septum. Dr. Stoker performed a rhinoplasty and a septoplasty to achieve her goals. She is shown before and three weeks following her surgery. Although she already looks great, her result will continue to improve over the course of a year.
This 60-year-old woman fractured her nose and lacerated her lip in an accident. She initially came to our office only for repair of her laceration and broken nose. She then decided to make the most of her recovery period by having a cosmetic rhinoplasty and carbon dioxide laser skin resurfacing of her mouth area as well. In the picture with a view the underside of her nose, notice the big improvement in symmetry and the nose incision that is almost invisible. She is shown here before and eight months following her surgery.
Years earlier, this 19-year-old woman had nose and septal surgery, but was disappointed with her results. She felt that her nose looked crooked and misshapen and had difficulty breathing through her nose as well. Wanting to have a more natural-looking nose and to be able to breathe more easily, she decided to find a Los Angeles cosmetic surgeon who could help her achieve the look she wanted.
After considering her options, she scheduled a consultation with board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. David Stoker. She explained to her surgeon how unhappy she had been with her previous results and the difficulty she had trying to breathe through her nose. To correct her breathing and achieve the look she wanted, her surgeon had to perform a revision rhinoplasty, septoplasty, spreader grafts and turbinate surgery. The rhinoplasty would modify the appearance of the nose, while the septoplasty, spreader grafts and turbinate surgery would help to treat the function of her nose by modifying the internal structures and opening up her nasal passages.
After her Los Angeles rhinoplasty and septoplasty were completed, she returned two months later and had her "after" photos taken. Her profile has been subtly transformed; the slope of her nose is much more gradual and perky and the overall shape of her nose is much more in balance with the rest of her facial features. She was very happy with her results.
Although this 29-year-old woman had undergone nose surgery years earlier by another surgeon, she was disappointed with the results. To achieve the results that she wanted, she made the decision to have revision rhinoplasty with Dr. David Stoker.
During her consultation, her plastic surgeon recommended a procedure designed to achieve two goals: to improve her nose's appearance and to help her ability to breathe through her nose.
In the case of this woman, her revision rhinoplasty and septoplasty at our Los Angeles practice focused on alleviating both of her concerns. Shown here one year following her surgery, she is pleased with her improved nose appearance and breathing.
This 30-year-old woman wanted to learn more about her options for reshaping her nose. She decided to have rhinoplasty in Los Angeles at our practice to achieve her facial goals.
Men and women who choose us for their rhinoplasty have a wide range of issues. For some, it is the size of their nose: they may feel that it is too large for their face. Others want to have the shape corrected, with concerns ranging from their nose's slope to the breadth to their nasal tip. In other situations, patients have breathing problems and require a septoplasty as well as a rhinoplasty. Some individuals have dealt with their concerns all their lives, while others may opt for nose surgery as a result of an accident or injury.
We often perform rhinoplasty as an outpatient surgery, minimizing any discomfort by using local or general anesthesia. The length of the procedure varies, usually 1 to 2 hours for standard procedures, while more complex ones can take longer.
In this case, the woman focused her cosmetic goals on reshaping her nose. She is shown four months following her surgery.
This 17-year-old male was experiencing difficulty in breathing through his nose. In addition, he wanted a less prominent nose. He decided to learn more about a Los Angeles rhinoplasty and septoplasty.
Men and women visit our practice for nose surgery for varying reasons, such as enhancing their nose's size or shape, repairing damage caused by an injury, improving or restoring breathing, or complementing another facial sculpting procedure, such as a face lift.
In the case of this patient, the surgeon performed a rhinoplasty, septoplasty and turbinate surgery to accomplish his goals. While the rhinoplasty can be designed to reshape or resize the nose, a septoplasty can alleviate breathing problems by straightening the nasal septum. For some patients, turbinate surgery may help to make the nasal cavities larger and assist with breathing issues.
This 16-year-old girl wanted to reduce the size and prominence of her nose. With the support of her parents, she began searching for a plastic surgeon in Los Angeles and came across the Dr. Stoker's Practice. Impressed with the before and after photos on their Web site, she requested a consultation.
The patient and her parents met with the surgeon to discuss her options. The surgeon asked her to hold up a mirror and pinpoint exactly what she didn't like about her nose. She mentioned that she didn't like the way she looked when viewed from the side and that she would like her nose to have a gentler slope. He told her that she would be an ideal candidate for rhinoplasty in Los Angeles. She agreed to the procedure with her parents' permission and set up a date for surgery.
During the procedure, her surgeon reduced the size of her dorsal bump and lifted her nasal tip slightly. She is shown three months later with no remaining bruising or noticeable scarring. She is happy with her profile and the straighter shape of her nose.
This 24-year-old woman didn't like the "hook" shape of her nose and wanted to find a cosmetic surgeon in Los Angeles. Having heard about the talented professionals at Dr. Stoker's Practice, she requested a consultation to discuss her options.
At the time of her visit, she told her surgeon that she disliked her prominent nose and thought it was too long. She also told him about her breathing trouble and he conducted a brief physical examination of her nasal structure. After a few photos and measurements, he concluded that a deviated nasal septum was making it difficult for her to breathe and suggested septoplasty in addition to rhinoplasty in Los Angeles. A septoplasty surgery involves straightening the nasal septum (the bone and cartilage that divides the two nostrils) so that it is centered and allows for better airflow. She took his advice and scheduled an appointment for the operation.
The patient returned four months following her surgery for her post-operative photos. The pictures reveal that her nose is much smaller with a more natural slant. She also asked her surgeon to remove the mole on her left cheek, which was distracting from her large brown eyes. She is very happy with her new look and reports no breathing problems.
This 22-year-old woman was unable to breathe properly, especially at night. She was also unhappy with the size of her nasal hump and felt that it made her nose look disproportional to the rest of her face. She began looking for a cosmetic surgeon in Los Angeles and found Dr. Stoker's Practice.
When she met with her surgeon for an initial consultation, she described the difficulty she had breathing and expressed her wish for a less prominent nose. Her surgeon said that she would be a good candidate for rhinoplasty in Los Angeles. He examined her nose and nasal passageways and concluded that she suffered from a deviated nasal septum. A septum is the wall that divides the two sides of the nose and it should be straight and centered. If it is off-center or bent, it is referred to as a "deviated septum" and can cause breathing problems. The surgeon explained that the procedure would help reshape her nose and open her nasal airways so that she could breathe more easily. She was excited to get started and scheduled an appointment for surgery.
The surgeon performed a septorhinoplasty to correct her deviated nasal septum and change the look of her nose. In just five weeks, the patient's post-operative photos show a more delicate slope and refined nasal tip. She has also reported that she now breathes correctly and is very happy with the results.
This 31-year-old woman was having difficulty breathing and was tired of the way her nose seemed to arch forward. She knew that she wanted to have rhinoplasty in Los Angeles and started searching for a qualified surgeon. After her some research, she decided to make an appointment with the renowned professionals at Dr. Stoker's Practice.
During her first consultation she explained that she had a hard time breathing and was frustrated with the size and shape of her nose. Her surgeon was understanding and took some initial photos and facial measurements, as well as examined her internal nasal structures to assess her breathing. He suggested turbinate surgery to correct her breathing as well as rhinoplasty to reshape her nose. Turbinate surgery typically involves making incisions through the nostrils and then removing bone from inside the turbinate, so there is minimal scarring.
Thanks to her Los Angeles plastic surgeon, she now has an improved nasal bridge that does not "hook." The tip of her nose is also more defined and she reports that she no longer has trouble breathing. She is very happy with her results and would highly recommend Dr. Stoker's Practice.
