Injectables such as fillers and BOTOX® Cosmetic can effectively address facial aging caused by fat, muscle, and bone loss. We offer this nonsurgical approach, often called a liquid facelift, at our Los Angeles practice for women and men who want to regain a more youthful look without downtime.
Is a liquid facelift right for you?
Can you benefit from a nonsurgical facelift? If your skin still retains much of its elasticity but you’re bothered by dark circles and hollowness under the eyes, nasolabial folds, crow’s feet, and worry lines, the answer is often yes. Combining fillers and BOTOX can lift, contour, and smooth those features by restoring volume and minimizing wrinkles. Dr. Stoker and his team of aesthetic specialists strategically inject various fillers in the cheek area, along the jawline, in the nasolabial folds, and around the mouth. BOTOX or Dysport® are used at the temples and forehead to reduce dynamic wrinkling.
You’re a great liquid facelift candidate if you:
- Have minimal volume loss
- Want to address early signs of aging
- Don’t mind getting periodic treatments to maintain results
- Have had good experiences with cosmetic injectables and want more comprehensive changes
- Want to treat areas such as under the eyes that a surgical facelift doesn’t address
You’re a great candidate for a surgical facelift if you:
- Have significant jowling
- Want to tighten sagging skin, especially in the lower face and neck
- Have deeper folds and wrinkles than fillers can treat
- Are looking for long-term results
It’s important to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in facelift surgery, such as Dr. Stoker, to determine which treatment path is best for you.
Can you combine nonsurgical skin tightening with a liquid facelift?
Combining a liquid facelift with a nonsurgical skin tightening treatment such as Ultherapy® can produce excellent results with virtually no downtime. Ultherapy is an FDA-cleared treatment that uses ultrasound energy to stimulate the body’s natural healing response, lifting and tightening mild to moderate loose skin on the jawline and neck and under the chin. Ultherapy results emerge gradually over 2 to 3 months as the body produces new collagen.
What happens during a liquid facelift?
Once it’s clear that you can benefit from nonsurgical facial rejuvenation, your aesthetic specialist will create a customized treatment plan that includes specific fillers and BOTOX or Dysport. In some cases, the injector marks the specific injection sites and patients may choose to have the areas numbed. Fillers are pre-mixed with a local anesthetic to minimize discomfort.
One of our aesthetic specialists then makes the injections, which last only a few seconds each. Because fillers show immediate results, the injector will evaluate your appearance to ensure the placement and quantity are achieving the desired outcome. If BOTOX or Dysport are included in your treatment, it takes 7 to 10 days to see the results emerge.
What is recovery like after a liquid facelift?
You’ll likely experience some redness, swelling, and, rarely, bruising after your liquid facelift. These can be minimized by avoiding certain medications and supplements prior to treatment. Our team provides a detailed list of these products before your appointment and instructions for post-treatment care. You may want to take the rest of the day off from work to allow the redness and swelling to dissipate. We offer red light therapy to help ease post-treatment inflammation, bruising, and redness. The skin absorbs red LED light, which studies show helps the healing process.
How much does a liquid facelift cost?
Because we customize each nonsurgical facelift, estimating the cost isn’t possible without a consultation. Our team at Stoker Aesthetics takes a conservative approach to facial rejuvenation, meaning the amount of fillers or BOTOX used is only enough to produce the desired results. We provide patients with a detailed cost estimate after the consultation.
Our expertise extends beyond plastic surgery. We offer an extensive range of non-surgical treatments administered by our talented, experienced team of aesthetic providers under the guidance of board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. David Stoker.
