Facial symmetry is an essential element of attractiveness. A nose that isn’t in harmony with other facial features detracts from an attractive face, drawing unwanted attention and preventing people from feeling confident about their appearance. A nonsurgical approach to rhinoplasty, sometimes called a liquid nose job, at our Marina del Rey practice is an option that’s increasingly popular with many of our med spa patients from Santa Monica and the greater Los Angeles area.
This young female patient wanted a more sleek and straight nose and wasn't ready for surgery. Our nurse injector, Stacy, used Restylane Lyft to create this beautiful outcome!
Similar in concept to a liquid facelift, liquid rhinoplasty refers to contouring the nose using strategically placed injections of dermal fillers. Adding filler to certain areas improves the symmetry of the nose and creates the appearance of a straighter nose that’s more in proportion to the rest of a patient’s face. Because the body gradually absorbs fillers, the results are temporary. Scheduling maintenance treatments can prolong the results. You can also look at a liquid nose job as “test driving” changes that can eventually be made permanent with surgical rhinoplasty.
We have a full menu of dermal fillers, including Restylane® Lyft so that we can tailor the procedure to your specific concerns.

When performed by skilled injectors with the necessary expertise, a liquid nose job is an effective option for the right patients. But it isn’t for everyone with concerns about the appearance of their noses. Identifying who can benefit from fillers for nasal contouring and who is better suited for a surgical approach is a key responsibility of the provider you choose.
You’re a great liquid rhinoplasty candidate if you want to:
Camouflage a nasal hump on the bridge of the nose
Straighten a curved nose to make it appear more symmetrical and balanced
Add definition to the nasal tip
Rotate a droopy nasal tip
Create a narrower, more well-defined bridge
Smooth irregular contours
You’re a great candidate for surgical rhinoplasty if you want to:
Make permanent changes to the contours of your nose
Reduce the size of your nose
Significantly narrow the nasal bridge
Straighten a severely crooked nose
Fix a deviated septum
It’s important to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in rhinoplasty, such as Dr. Stoker, to determine which treatment path is best for you.
What are the benefits of liquid rhinoplasty?
Besides the aesthetic improvements mentioned on this page, nonsurgical rhinoplasty offers other, more practical benefits if you’re a good candidate for the procedure.
These benefits include:
Temporary results: Surgical rhinoplasty creates transformative outcomes that most patients love. But if your concerns are more modest and you aren’t sure that surgery is the best path, a liquid nose job provides a trial run. If you’re not satisfied, the hyaluronic acid fillers used for nonsurgical rhinoplasty can be dissolved with an enzyme-based injectable.
Affordable: In the short term, the cost of liquid rhinoplasty is significantly less than its surgical counterpart.
Immediate results: You’ll see the outcome of the procedure almost immediately, without the recovery time associated with surgery.
And, for patients who have already undergone surgical rhinoplasty but aren’t happy with their results, dermal fillers can improve concerns about symmetry or other modest irregularities without having another surgery.
Are there any side effects with a liquid nose job?
Even though filler injections are less invasive than surgical rhinoplasty, most patients experience some temporary and easily managed bruising and swelling that resolves on its own. All dermal filler injections also include the risk of vascular occlusion, which occurs if filler blocks an artery or vein. The nasal area is more vulnerable to this risk than other areas of the face, which is another reason it’s essential to choose a provider who specializes in nonsurgical rhinoplasty. It’s important to watch for specific symptoms, such as pale skin, redness, or increasing pain immediately after the injections.
How much does liquid rhinoplasty cost?
The cost of liquid rhinoplasty varies depending on a patient’s concerns and the amount of filler needed to produce the desired outcome. After discussing your goals at a consultation, we’ll provide a detailed price quote for your procedure.
