In Santa Monica and the Los Angeles area, people who have experienced a disappointing liposuction result the first time often go the extra mile to find a board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience. Liposuction results that need correction require the high level of skill and experience of a body contouring specialist.
He’s written 2 textbook chapters on liposuction, sharing his knowledge with future plastic surgeons.
He regularly teaches liposuction courses at meetings of The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons® (ASPS).
He was named as a top surgeon in liposuction by The New York Times.
He’s pioneered some of today’s most popular liposuction techniques, such as power-assisted liposuction (PAL).

This 27-year-old woman already had a nice figure, but she was bothered by small fatty bulges that were obvious in certain clothing. Losing weight didn't make sense for this patient because she was comfortable at her current weight and felt that if she lost more weight through diet that her face and neck would look too lean. Instead, she began... Read More

She came to Dr. Stoker's practice to find a Los Angeles plastic surgeon who could help her achieve the look she wanted wit... Read More
As a specialist in body sculpting, it’s common for patients to seek me out to revise poor outcomes from liposuction in Los Angeles or elsewhere by other surgeons. Many of these patients are candidates for revision liposuction or fat grafting. However, while the need for corrective liposuction is common, plastic surgeons who can skillfully improve a contour problem may be more difficult to find.
Corrective liposuction is difficult to perform, requiring years of experience to deliver consistently pleasing results. Each patient requires an individualized surgical plan. The approach usually involves at least two techniques and sometimes more than one session.
I have been performing corrective liposuction for many years and find the procedure very satisfying. I welcome you to request a consultation online or call

Educated at some of the most elite institutions in the country, Dr. David Stoker uses his highly advanced knowledge to ensure that each patient achieves beautiful, harmonious results — whether it's through a simple non-surgical procedure or a more advanced surgical transformation. Liposuction results such as unnatural indentations, lumps, sagging, and creases can usually be improved with corrective liposuction. Depressions can be filled via fat transfer. I’ve been working on an exciting project with stem cell research with UCLA, where we have found that 90% of fat I remove is still alive after 96 hours in the laboratory. This is consistent with my clinical observation of excellent results with fat grafting. My gentle liposuction technique ensures that harvested fat cells have the best chance of surviving.
Areas that are overly prominent or lumpy can be treated with very gentle, precise power-assisted liposuction. The PAL system allows me a great deal of control so I can achieve fine sculpting for my patients.
Recovery
Recovery from corrective liposuction is usually swift. Because I am careful to minimize tissue trauma and because the procedure is highly targeted, most people can get back to their lives in one or two days.
Results
As with any cosmetic procedure, it’s best to get it right the first time. If this didn’t happen for you, be assured that there’s every chance your body contour can be improved with corrective liposuction.
