Pubic Lift

After significant weight loss or aging, almost no part of the body is immune to sagging or laxity. This is especially true of the pubic area, which is normally padded with a layer of fat. With time or weight loss, the fat in this area can diminish, leaving saggy skin that can affect your well-being and confidence during intimacy. During pubic lift surgery at my Los Angeles-area practice, I elevate and tighten this delicate area to mimic the appearance of youth and improve your confidence both in and out of clothing.

If you’re ready to discuss your options for a pubic lift in person at my Marina del Rey practice, request a consultation using our online form or call my office at  (310) 300-1779 to set up your appointment. I’m looking forward to meeting with you and helping you exceed your aesthetic goals.

Keep in mind that each patient is unique and your results may vary.

Planning Your Pubic Lift

Although a pubic lift can be performed in conjunction with a tummy tuck because they use similar incisions, it can also be performed on its own if you’re satisfied with the look of your abdomen. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your long-term aesthetic goals, and I’ll perform a physical examination of your pubic area. This helps me to accurately plan my surgery. I’ll also ask you questions about your medical history and explain the procedure that is most likely to help you. Usually I am able to demonstrate to patients the amount of tightening they should expect.

My Technique

While you are under general anesthesia, I make a horizontal incision just above your pubic area. This incision allows me to remove excess skin and other tissue while physically tightening and lifting the remaining skin. The result is a smooth, contoured pubic area with a discreet scar that can be easily hidden beneath clothing and most swimwear. The skin tightening usually extends down into the inner thighs, which become noticeably tighter after a pubic lift.

If you opt to combine your pubic lift with a tummy tuck, I also work through the same incision to tighten your abdominal muscles and remove sagging skin for an attractive abdomen that complements your pubic lift results.

Recovery & Enjoying Your Results

As with other post weight-loss surgeries, the results of a pubic lift can be permanent if you closely follow my instructions for caring for yourself after surgery and avoid significant weight changes in the future.

Pubic lift surgery is an outpatient procedure, and you’ll need someone to stay with you for at least the remainder of the day after you go home. Discomfort and swelling are manageable with both prescribed medication and the use of a compression garment, and you can expect to get back to work within about one week.
