The C-Tuck: Is it a Thing?

There is never a shortage of trends when it comes to the aesthetics field, and often the ones that get the most buzz are those that seem too good to be true. One such example is the so-called “C-tuck,” which involves having a cesarean section immediately followed by a tummy tuck. At my Los Angeles practice, I have fielded questions about this combination, but I don’t recommend it (or perform it). In this blog post, I’ll explain why. An OB-GYN Isn’t a Plastic Surgeon A tummy tuck is a complicated procedure and plastic surgeons are uniquely qualified to perform this … Continue reading »

What Happens to Your Belly Button During a Tummy Tuck?

Tummy tucks are well-known for their ability to produce a toned, contoured stomach. But moving the skin and tightening muscle can have an unintended side effect: changing how your belly button looks. For some patients, I recommend a modified form of a tummy tuck called a panniculectomy at my Los Angeles-area practice. The panniculus is the apron of excess abdominal skin that hangs over the waist after weight loss, and surgery is really the only solution for people who feel self-conscious about their appearance. … Continue reading »

Body Contouring Surgery After Weight Loss: 5 Things to Know

Some of the most satisfying surgical procedures I perform involve body contouring, especially after patients have lost a significant amount of weight. Their dedication to making a personal transformation often includes consulting with some of the best plastic surgeons in Los Angeles, and I’m honored they choose me for this final step. Patients lose significant weight in different ways. Some change their lifestyles and lose the weight through diet and exercise. Weight loss surgery, such as gastric bypass or banding procedures, is another way to lose the extra pounds. Whichever path patients chose to lose weight, they are often left with … Continue reading »
