I’m Dr. David Stoker, board-certified plastic surgeon in Los Angeles. Today I’m sharing an exciting 10-week post-op result from a revision abdominoplasty — a powerful example of what’s possible even after a prior tummy tuck.

This patient had previously undergone an abdominoplasty that left her with a high scar and a shrunken belly button, reduced to almost a pinhole. Using advanced techniques, I reworked her abdomen, including a series of Z-plasty incisions to reshape and reconstruct the belly button. The improvement is dramatic.

At just 10 weeks, we now see a natural-looking belly button with far fewer abdominal wrinkles, improved tightness, and a smooth, even contour. While the incision still has some fading to do over the next 6 months, it’s already lower, more discreet, and aesthetically superior to her previous surgery.

This case is a great example of how even complex revision cases can be significantly improved with a thoughtful, customized approach. The location of her original belly button limited how far we could lower the scar, but with careful planning, we achieved a more flattering result and long-term potential for continued improvement.
