The men and women who visit my practice are pleased to discover that, for facial rejuvenation, surgical skin tightening is not the only option. There's a gentler, subtler way to refresh your appearance: injectable fillers such as Sculptra®, RADIESSE®, JUVÉDERM® and Restylane®. In Los Angeles, these non-surgical treatments plump up the skin from beneath, creating a look that is as natural as it is youthful.
As a board-certified plastic surgeon, he has extensive experience in the nuances of facial rejuvenation.
He offers an array of sophisticated dermal filler options for the most natural-looking results.
He's been featured in media outlets such as "The Dr. Phil Show" and The New York Times to share his expertise.
One of the most important decisions to make before your treatment is which filler you will use. You have a variety of options, including:
JUVÉDERM Injectable Gel. This smooth-consistency gel filler is available in several formulations, all with hyaluronic acid as the active ingredient. Used most frequently to improve lips and smile lines, JUVÉDERM results last for up to 1 year.
SculptraAesthetic: Results of Sculptra (formulated with poly-L-lactic acid) develop gradually and last for up to 2 years. Treatments actually encourage collagen production within the deep dermis. It is most useful in the cheeks or temple regions.
RADIESSE: Although it is made with a different ingredient (calcium hydroxylapatite), RADIESSE also works to stimulate collagen production. Results begin to show immediately and may last a year or more.
Restylane: Made with hyaluronic acid, Restylane is used for the tear troughs under the eyes, upper and lower lips, and creases in the corners of the mouth. In Los Angeles, my Restylane patients see results that last 6 to 12 months.
Perlane®: This filler is made by the same manufacturer as Restylane. The difference is that the size of particles in Perlane is larger than those in Restylane, and it is more useful for deep wrinkles.
Treatment with injectable fillers is generally quick and comfortable. In fact, many fillers have lidocaine added for pain prevention. I use a tiny needle to inject a precise amount of the filler substance into the areas that require volume enhancement or underneath wrinkles that should be smoothed.
The results of injectable fillers are immediate and satisfying. Patients are able to return to work the same day. Unlike surgery, however, the results of injectable fillers are not permanent. Whether my Los Angeles patients choose JUVÉDERM, RADIESSE, or another filler, their treatment will need to be repeated over time to maintain the improvement.
