Does a Mommy Makeover Include the Thighs?

If thigh contouring is important to you, your plastic surgeon should be able to accommodate it in your Mommy Makeover treatment plan.

A Mommy Makeover is a combination surgery tailored to your unique goals. Although it is commonly associated with breast enhancement and a tummy tuck, other areas of the body and face are often treated. Let’s explore how you can address the thighs (and other areas) within the scope of a Mommy Makeover.

Thigh Contouring in a Mommy Makeover

Genetics and age may lead to increased fat deposits in the thighs, while sudden weight loss can leave excess, stretched skin behind. Neither concern can be addressed through diet and exercise alone. By adding thigh contouring to your Mommy Makeover, you can get sculpted, toned legs while treating other areas at the same time.

Ways to target the thighs include:

  • Liposuction: This minimally invasive procedure offers targeted fat reduction for leaner, sleeker legs. You can choose to sculpt the inner thighs, outer thighs, front and back of your thighs, or a combination.
  • Thigh Lift: If sagging skin is the more significant issue, you may be better suited for a thigh lift. This procedure removes excess skin and reshapes the remaining tissue for a more defined appearance and proportional legs.
  • Pubic Lift: A prominent, puffy mons pubis is a common concern for mothers after multiple childbirths. Medial (inner) thigh laxity and wrinkles are also bothersome for many. When Dr. Stoker performs an abdominoplasty, he often includes a pubic lift using the same incisions. The pubic lift is a powerful technique to smooth and lift the mons pubis. It is so effective that it often tightens the medial thighs and labia majora as well.

We can often incorporate a thigh lift as part of a lower body lift, especially if you want to smooth your tummy and repair separated abdominal muscles (a condition called diastasis recti). A lower body lift involves an extended version of the tummy tuck and treats the flanks, saddle bags, buttocks, and thighs in one procedure.

What Else Can Be Included in a Mommy Makeover?

Beyond the breast and body procedures typically included in a Mommy Makeover, patients can customize the surgery to their aesthetic goals. Although not every procedure can fit in one Mommy Makeover, you can spread them out over stages to allow adequate healing in between.

Other common procedures include:

We will determine the exact combination, timing, and approach during your consultation. As long as you are in good health and have realistic expectations about recovery and outcomes, you are encouraged to make your transformation your own.
