Neck Lift Just for You

Neck lift surgery can be effective for men and women. Through my experience performing the procedure for a large number of men and women, I have refined my skills so that I'm able to customize the procedure to fit your features.

Dr. Stoker Explains Neck Lift

In Los Angeles, neck lift surgery is similar to a facelift, but it focuses on the jaw line, neck bands and skin laxity. In my opinion, a neck lift can do more to improve a patient's appearance than almost any other procedure, especially when combined with eyelid surgery. A natural-looking result is always my goal for my patients.

In our initial consultation, we will discuss your concerns, and I will examine your face and neck to recommend a customized approach. If you need a "skin only" neck lift, I typically place two incisions around the ears. This allows me access to tighten and smooth the skin of the neck.

I may also suggest an additional procedure that tightens the underlying muscles and fat. This procedure requires a small incision under the chin in addition to the ones around the ears. It can improve the appearance of the neck dramatically, and it is particularly effective for patients with heavy neck bands and substantial skin laxity.

With both procedures, the skill of the plastic surgeon is of paramount importance. Your surgeon should have extensive experience and a thorough understanding of these techniques to achieve natural appearing results. Be sure to look through many before-and-after photos of your surgeon's work.

An ideal candidate for Los Angeles neck lift surgery is between the ages of 40 and 70 and is experiencing loose skin, wrinkling or banding. Patients should be in good overall health, with blood pressure under control. Candidates who smoke should stop before their procedure.

Patients experience some bruising that resolves in one to two weeks. Some swelling may linger for several months, but patients will notice an immediate improvement in their appearance. These are all part of the normal healing process and are not a cause for concern. Most of my patients return to work after one week. You should wait at least three weeks before resuming vigorous exercise.

Complications following neck lift surgery in Los Angeles are uncommon in my experience. Possible risks include infection, bleeding, delayed healing and nerve damage. All of these are treatable with high-quality postoperative care.
