Why Choose Dr. StokerMini face lift: This technique is most appropriate for younger patients just beginning to see signs of facial aging. By lifting and repositioning the skin, a mini face lift improves the appearance of wrinkles in the cheeks but has minimal effect on the neck and jowls.
Short scar face lift: In this approach, facial muscles and fat are lifted vertically and secured in a more youthful position. The skin may then be tightened with minimal tension to achieve a natural appearance. The short scar face lift improves the cheeks and jowls, primarily, but also improves the neck.
Full incision technique: This procedure is most common among men who are in their 50’s or older and have significant skin laxity of the neck. A full incision face lift tightens the lower portions of your face, especially your jaw line. It is the most effective way to remove excess fat, tighten underlying muscles and redrape the skin of your face and neck.
Deep plane facelift: This approach produces more dramatic results than a traditional facelift by lifting and repositioning the deeper layer of tissue and muscle.
I see patients ranging in age from their early 40s through their late 60s. Many men add complementary procedures to minimize their number of trips to the operating room. The most common add-on procedures include eyelid surgery and non-surgical facial rejuvenation including BOTOX® Cosmetic and fillers. This is often the best way to achieve harmonious aesthetic results. It tends to be more cost effective for patients as well.
A face lift in Los Angeles is performed on an outpatient basis, so you’ll be able to return home the same day if you choose. Most people take a week off work to allow ample time for healing. You will experience swelling and bruising, but patients tell me there is very little discomfort. As with any surgery, it’s important to ease back into your routine as your body heals.
In my experience, complications from face lifts are uncommon, but bleeding, infection, delayed healing and nerve damage are possible. Each of these issues is treatable with quality postoperative care.
