Patients who have waited until their 50s or later—and those who are bothered by skin laxity, sun damage or wrinkles—benefit best from a traditional facelift. In my Los Angeles practice, I’ve consulted with thousands of men and women who want a more youthful look, and as a specialist in facial rejuvenation, my goal is always to achieve a natural result. When we meet, I will review your options with you and thoroughly explain my recommendations.

Keep in mind that each patient is unique and your results may vary.
As we get older, collagen production decreases, the skin begins to lose elasticity, and sun damage becomes more noticeable. This is what we call aging, and to combat that, we can do a combination treatment. This patient wanted a full facial rejuvenation treatment to restore her youthful appearance so that is exactly what we did, giving her the confidence... Read More
This beautiful 52-year-old woman came to us hoping to have a pan facial rejuvenation treatment to make her look how she felt young and beautiful. She flew in from out of town and was a previous patient of mine for other procedures. And she, most of all, wanted a natural appearance.
We did a face and neck lift with platysmaplasty, a chin augmentation,... Read More
This 47-year-old woman was interested in total facial rejuvenation. Concerned about the look of her brow, eyes, lower face, lips, and skin tone, she decided to look for a Los Angeles plastic surgery center that staffed skilled surgeons experienced at performing multiple facial surgeries. After some research, she decided to schedule a consultation... Read More
A 53-year-old woman came to us desiring a pan-facial rejuvenation. She had beautiful underlying features, but her skin did not hold up well in the Southern California sun, and she also smoked for a good number of years that accelerated the aging. I performed a Traceless facelift and neck lift, in addition to upper eyelids and deep fractional carbon... Read More
Our 63-year-old male patient is an active guy who was unhappy that his eyes had lost their sparkle. His neck skin was sagging and his cheek skin and jowls were also sagging. He's very active in his life, lives like a young man. He wanted to restore that youthful appearance that he once had.

In her late sixties, we have a beautiful patient that I performed my signature Traceless Facelift on roughly 5 years ago. She has her 50th high school reunion coming up and wanted to look and feel her best. A traditional facelift calls for incisions in front and in back of the ear, moving up and into the hairline. Through these incisions, facial muscles and fat can be elevated and repositioned to a more youthful location. Then skin can be lifted and secured with minimal tension on the delicate tissues.
Most often I also make a small incision under the chin to enable me to tighten the neck muscles and lift the skin. Many patients benefit from a little liposuction of the neck as well, and some elect a chin implant to further define the jawline.
This approach can yield dramatic improvement by:
Smoothing vertical lines in the cheeks
Redefining the jawline
Reducing neck laxity
For most patients, scars are undetectable after healing.

Typical candidates for a traditional facelift are men and women in their 50s or 60s. This approach is also usually best for patients who have lost a significant amount of weight, causing substantial cheek, jowl and neck laxity. Younger patients who have less significant facial aging may be candidates for a mini facelift.
Patients should be in good overall health, with blood pressure under control. Candidates who smoke should stop before their procedure.

After a facelift, most patients take about a week off work. Improvement continues as bruising disappears and swelling subsides over the next few weeks. Final results can be seen in about 6 weeks.
Facelift Surgery Risks
Most patients do not experience complications following facelift surgery. Bleeding, infection, delayed healing and nerve damage are some of the complications that could occur. With attention to detail and quality postoperative care, each of these conditions is treatable.
Our expertise extends beyond plastic surgery. We offer an extensive range of non-surgical treatments administered by our talented, experienced team of aesthetic providers under the guidance of board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. David Stoker.
